Note that these function might return the hash value differently in different SQL dialects — e.g. as binary value or hex encoded character string where the letters A-F might appear in upper or lower case.

Normative References

The SQL-Standard ISO/IEC 9075-2 does not define functions to calculate SHA2-512 hash values.
